Suburban homes southwest of Rochester

Chili was established in 1822 from part of the Town of Riga and today is one of the larger suburban towns in western Monroe County, with more than 12,000 homes. Roberts Wesleyan is in the hamlet of North Chili, Black Creek Park has trails along Black Creek, and the Chili Mills Conservation Area is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Very little of Chili's housing is old: only about 5% of homes were built before 1940, and the typical home dates to the late 1970s. That makes Chili a town full of homes reaching the age where original roofs, builder-grade windows and first-generation vinyl siding need replacing, often all within a few years of each other. Coordinating roofing, siding, gutters and windows with one contractor keeps the drip edge, trim and flashing working together.

How we help Chili homeowners

Building permits in Chili are issued by the Town of Chili Building Department at Chili Town Hall, which takes applications online through CloudPermit. The town has no incorporated villages. If your project requires a permit, we'll discuss the requirements with you before work begins.
