Walk the canal villages of western Monroe and Orleans counties and you will see a lot of houses with history: steep roofs, dormers, porches and layered additions. In Albion, more than four in ten homes in the village were built before 1940. In Holley it is more than half. Near the center of Brockport, many were built in the 1800s and early 1900s.

Re-siding a house like that is not the same job as siding a modern ranch.

What can be hiding under old siding

  • Wood trim and sills that look fine under paint but have rot behind them.
  • Sheathing that needs repair before anything new goes on.
  • Little or no insulation behind the old siding.
  • Window and door openings that were never flashed well.

We check for these conditions during the estimate so there are fewer surprises once work begins. Any necessary sheathing repairs are priced per sheet, so you know how the cost works before it comes up.

The trim is what makes it look right

On an older home the details carry the look: windows and doors with custom aluminum trim, carefully finished corners and rakes, and clean soffit and fascia. A project that skips them can look like a basic cover-up. We install insulation beneath all new siding and flash around windows, doors and other openings as part of the job.

Built for low maintenance

Vinyl siding with aluminum trim wrap is a durable, low-maintenance fit for older homes, including rentals. For rental properties, our estimate and contract are always with the property owner.

Warranty

Siding we install is covered by the manufacturer's warranty for the product you choose, which varies, plus a 5-year warranty on our workmanship.
